U.S. Air Force B-2 stealth bombers will soon be equipped with Rockwell Collins secure and jam-resistant very low-frequency radio communications systems. These new systems will allow the bomber crew to communicate with national command authorities while on long-range missions. JetBlue has announced that they will follow suit and become the third major U.S. airline to reduce capacity to Cuba since the regular commercial passenger service to the Cuba resumed since August. JetBlue has maintained that they will not reduce flight schedules nor will they eliminate any of their Cuban destinations and will instead opt to downsize to smaller aircrafts along its already existing routes. Cloud computing is bringing innovation to aircraft engine health monitoring tech with real time data streaming to platforms. Traditionally engine data has been stored on board with only small reports during takeoff, ascension, and cruise. Today, aircraft can connect to the cloud 24/7 offering massive amounts of data to optimize an aircraft engine. Rolls-Royce was an early adopter of such technology and monitors the health of over 13,000 engines per day using Microsoft Azure’s cloud platform. Data from flights around the world is extracted from engines mid-flight and transformed into usable information using Microsoft’s Cortana Intelligence Suite. Read more >>

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has announced that they will showcase three of their exclusive business jets this year at the Australian International Aerospace & Defense Exposition at Avalon Airport during the length of the event which lasts from February 28th until March 5th in Geelong, Victoria. Available for viewing outside the Chalet N17-18 at the Avalon Airport, the three Gulfstream aircraft will showcase the static display that includes the company’s flagship aircraft the Gulfstream G650ER, Gulfstream G280, and Gulfstream G550.
